YATTERSPACE
Project Outline: ‘Design A Space For (Inspired By) A Superhero’

The ‘Yatterspace’ is a model of 30cm by 30cm built to a scale of 1:50 for a suggested space of 15m by 15m by 15m which is designed for the Japanese cartoon superhero, Yatterman. The colours used (red, blue and white) are adapted from Yatterman’s superhero suit and the brass bolts and nuts represent the mechanical genius that he is.

‘波’ is a wearable head structure which is inspired by the folds and movements of the waves which you see on the shoreline. The overlapping and folds of the art card are done to create the flowing movement of the waves.

POETRY COLLECTION
Project Outline: Design A Fabric Inspired By A Poem Or Lyrics Of A Song

Inspired by the lyrics of Ikimonogakari’s song ‘HANABI’ (lyrics & translation here), this fabric piece was done firstly by painting 10 pieces of 25cm by 25cm acrylic paper with bright colours and different hues of acyrlic paint. These 10 pieces of paper were then cut and pasted and arranged in different patterns and designs on blank pieces of A4 paper which were then scanned in and further arranged in photoshop to obtain the final fabric design which was then printed on a cream cotton fabric.
